Everyone loves electronics for the pleasure it brings, whether in sound or image! So I decided to share with you my knowledge acquired over the years.

Since the advent of the big American chains whose primary mission was to offer "Pay and Go", the general public's knowledge of musicality and its faithful reproduction has been lost. Most people under the age of 30 are unaware of the benefits of having the right sound and video reproduction equipment to get the maximum experience.

Initially, I will publish on this blog, two articles per week, on Sundays and Thursdays.

 We'll talk about the return of the turntable, but also about the new 8K TVs. We'll explore the new digital media that offer so many benefits and pleasures. Why choose this speaker or amplifier? What are DACs used for? Are subwoofers mandatory in home theater and can they only be used for music? These are some of the questions I will try to answer.

 For those interested in technical details, but also to make technology more accessible, there will be 101 columns!

This field has so much to offer, we will explore the new trends, whether it is decorative or specific use televisions such as 3 seasons outdoor viewing or these models with motorized screens that adapt to your mobile phone for a vertical viewing as you have never seen...

 When it comes to household sound, many people use wireless speakers or in-wall speakers to broadcast music throughout every room. What about the absolute trend of patios and decks that are sounded to the point of including an extreme bass in the floor! Add an outdoor TV and it's another world...

1) WE NEED A SOUND SOURCE!

To listen to music, you need a distribution chain for it

We start with a source, either a signal acquired by streaming on the web, by playing downloaded digital files or by an analog source such as a record player or radio receiver, and of course, digital media such as CD and DVD.

To do this, we will talk about the following components:

2) THE AMPLIFICATION OF OUR AUDIO SOURCE.

It's all well and good to collect the sounds, but you'll have to get them to a volume level that can be heard.

This is where the amplifier comes into play, and depending on its design, it will render the sound taken from our source more or less faithfully. For a more complete use and to satisfy both the home cinema enthusiast and the gamer, versions of amplifiers equipped with multi-channel interpretation circuits will be added to the deal.

3) SOUND REPRODUCTION.

To hear the sound, you need speakers. Here again, you have to be careful, because not all of them have the same pedigree!

...There are full range speakers (to be avoided) as well as two-way, three-way and even three-and-a-half-way speakers, so you have to be careful. In general, the more channels you have, the more precise the sound will be, but this is not the only criterion, far from it...

To perfect the reproduction in all its splendor, many people will turn to an accessory speaker specialized in extreme bass. Here again, care must be taken, because as the saying goes: too much is like not enough, it takes balance. Like a good wine paired with a particular dish, one should enhance the experience of the other and vice versa!

We will talk about active, passive and hybrid loudspeakers! We will try to demystify the main principles that lead to the creation of a well balanced loudspeaker.
